Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.”
The Children's Ministry at Abundant Harvest is committed to nurturing ages 6-11 years of age into a personal, exciting, and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and equipping families for spiritual growth.
As children quickly grow stronger and taller in body, they also grow up in heart and mind. Each day our children are closer to forming the belief system that will guide them through life. Their belief system is formed by all they have absorbed from parents and others, good or bad. We live in challenging times as parents compete with the secular world for the hearts of their children. The days of our strong influence as parents are diminishing as our children grow toward independence.
Children’s church is a worship service designed for children ages 6-11 years of age, but it is patterned after the adult service. The service involves praise and worship, skits, sermonettes and other activities to teach children at a level that will assist them to grow spiritually.
Now is the time to teach our children more than goodness; we must teach them godliness. The difference is a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. That relationship is the basis for our foundation and belief system.
Our Children’s Ministry staff works hard to partner with parents to build that foundation for Christ in the lives of their children. We strive to make church a happy place where children are taught the Bible, challenged to live by it, and encouraged to share it with others. Will you partner with us to make a permanent impression for Christ on the heart of your child?
We look forward to a great relationship with you as we build strong, Christ-centered children and families.
To Be Announced
To help you with that, we are working towards creating a safe, and enjoyable toddler class available. We dream of the toddler area being where we meet the needs of the young and most precious in our church family. Our time with these little ones (age two through three) is spent singing songs, engaging them in play, and teaching simple lessons about our Lord.
This ministry allows young child to feel at home and a parent can feel at ease to worship the Lord unencumbered. Rest assured when you place your child in the toddler at Abundant Harvest Baptist Church, they will be loved and cared for by qualified care givers.
When placing your child in the toddler class plan to arrive ten to fifteen minutes before the service begins so you may check your child in and give any expectations to toddlers volunteers.
Relieving Your Care and Safety Concerns:
Children are signed into the toddler area by the child’s parent who fills out a brief information sheet. Then, the child is checked in by one of the toddler volunteers, and parent is given a pager with a number on it.
Children are not allowed to be picked up by anyone other than the parent with the matching number.
Our toddlers volunteers provides excellent supervision to always ensure the safety of your child, and for your own peace of mind, we place a strong emphasis on cleanliness. The toddler area is thoroughly disinfected every week.
Age appropriate toys are available, new ones purchased periodically, and children are closely monitored as they play. Toddlers volunteers workers play with the children as well.
Toddler workers carefully adhere to notes and instructions left by the parents.
Essentials bags (diapers, clothing, etc.) need to be clearly labeled with the name of the parent or child. All of the items in the bag should also be clearly labeled with the name or initials of your child. If you have any special items that your child may need, please point them out to the toddler staff.
Your essentials bag may need to contain the following items:
• All items required for a change (diaper, creams, ointments, salves, wipes, etc.).
• Extra diaper(s).
• Bottle or cup as needed.
• Change of clothes.
Please do not bring toys, books, candy, gum or other personal items. Toddler staff will not give any of these items to your child if they are in the essentials bag.

A Backyard Bible Club is a Vacation Bible School project that has outreach and ministry as its primary purpose. A Backyard Bible Club is held in an informal setting such as a backyard, a patio, a carport or garage. It is intended for three to ten years old.
Jesus is concerned about children. Backyard Bible Clubs takes the bible out of the church and into the neighborhood homes surrounding Saint Marys. This neighborhood Bible study approach is an effective tool for reaching out in love with a message of salvation to those who have not experienced a relationship with Christ and the loving ministry of Christians.
When Jesus met the needs of people where they where, they followed Him. Christians who go out and love people through the ministry of Backyard Bible Clubs will find people willing to attend church for regular Bible study and worship.
Sing to the Lord a New Song With all Your Heart Sing!
During every service, we sing a blend of traditional and contemporary music. We like to clap and even tap our toes. You will even find some close their eyes and soak each word, lyric and beat into our hearts. You will find others with an “Amen” on their lips. It’s widely understood that Baptist’s love our music.
Example of the music you will hear at AHBC:
