What to Expect

What is Worship Like?

We are so glad you found us online. If you’re new to the Camden County area, let us be one of the first to welcome you.  If however, you have lived here for a while, it is great to have you come by to check us out.

Being a smaller church, we do not have all of the bells and whistles that you might find at one of our city’s larger churches.  But we believe that being small is a great advantage to you.   The Pastors know all of our children’s’ names and greets them personally when we come in to worship.  If you are ever in need, you are supported by a community of close friends who know each other.

We are simplistic in our worship and our music.  There is not a lot of performances going on.  However, our choir does works extremely hard to lead us in singing both traditional hymns and some of the more current spiritual songs.  We like to clap our hands and even tap our toes sometimes.  You may find some who simply close their eyes and soak in each word of the song.  On the other hand,  you may hear some with an “Amen” on their lips.   It’s widely understood that we Baptist’s love our music.

There is no strict dress code to attend any service.   On Sunday, the pastors and some of the men wear a suit and tie while others come casual wearing jeans & a shirt.  No matter what is worn, it is our desire to honor the Lord in modest attire.

Our offering time is an extension of our worship.  As a guest, you are welcome to worship through giving, but please do not feel obligated.  We believe it is the responsibility of the church membership to sustain the ministries of the church through their giving.   Through faithful weekly giving, we are able to support our many missionaries around the world and help those in need within our own community, both physically and spiritually.

After the offering is collected, our pastor will come to the front and deliver the weekly message.  We consider the preaching of the Word of God to be the best and the most important part of the service.

We believe that the best help that you can get in any struggle of life is from the Bible.  Our pastors consistently deliver heartwarming and challenging messages from the pages of our Bible.

Often at the end of the preaching time, the pastor will ask everyone to stand & will give an invitation while we play a closing song.

This is a time when some respond to the challenge they heard in the message.  The leave their seat and go forward, making their need known to the pastor.     Some who come forward make the decision to trust Jesus Christ as personal Savior.  Other may commit to being a more devoted Christian.  Often, all that is needed is for our pastor to quickly pray with them.  At other times, the need requires setting up spiritual counseling sessions.  Whatever the need, our pastors are here to  help.

All are welcome! Come Visit Us!

Now that you’ve learned a little bit about our church, we look forward to meeting you and your family so we can learn a little about you!
